FAQ

What is an acrylic print?

The acrylic printing process utilizes high-grade metallic photo paper, which is meticulously adhered to a 1/4" thick acrylic sheet through a face-mounting technique. This creates a distinctive optical effect as light refracts within the acrylic, imparting a nearly backlit aesthetic when viewed under optimal lighting conditions. Additionally, the print is reinforced with a dibond backing, ensuring both protection and structural integrity. The edges of the print are skillfully diamond-polished, producing a see-through appearance. This method guarantees exceptional vibrancy, color precision, and longevity for your artwork. Ultimately, this frameless acrylic face-mounting approach delivers a remarkably contemporary and clean presentation.

How should I light my print?

Appropriate lighting is crucial for enhancing the aesthetic appeal of your acrylic print. To preserve the print's longevity, it is advisable to steer clear of direct sunlight, which can cause gradual damage. Opt instead for indirect, filtered sunlight or ambient room lighting when illuminating your print. During the installation planning phase, be sure to consider these factors.

Furthermore, the addition of specialized art lights can significantly augment the vibrancy and color rendition of your print. LED lighting is highly recommended for its minimal heat output, adjustable color temperature, and brightness control. You can choose from various options, including wireless alternatives if hardwiring is not feasible. To minimize glare on the artwork and reduce shadows, a 30-degree light angle is recommended

How do I care for my acrylic photo print?

Regularly dust your acrylic prints using a lint-free, dry, or slightly damp microfiber cloth. Avoid common chemical cleaners, opting for a specialized acrylic cleaning kit if a more thorough cleaning is required. Prevent exposure to high heat sources, such as radiators and fireplaces, as elevated temperatures can induce brittleness and cracking in the acrylic. To prevent scratches, handle the print with a soft cloth or gloves when moving or hanging it. For prolonged storage, keep the print in a cool, dry area, away from direct sunlight and heat.
